artist statementContemporary Abstract Painter
Inspired by colour, texture and mother nature, I create semi-abstract landscapes representing my local and regional surroundings. I have developed my own fluid process of layering using a mix of mediums: acrylic, ink, dry pigments, and water. I am definitely deeply influenced by my study of art therapy, the natural environment, mountains, bushlands and the coast. I am very lucky to have my studio situated on Jerrabomberra Mountain with magnificent views to the Nations Capital, the Brindabella Ranges and the Great Australian Snowy Mountains, a extremely peaceful place of natural beauty. I also love spending as much time as possible traveling to the South Coast on weekends, watching the forever changing landscapes, the depth of colour of the ocean waters, and falling light unique to our pristine coastline and hinterland. community workA big part of my art practice is working out in the community facilitating art classes for people with disabilities. Helping these beautiful people create and make is a wonderful gift.
